I Can Only Imagine

Missing Pieces

Image
A revived project for me is this altered puzzle. It's a perfect canvas for a heritage project I've been allowing my subconscious to create. For this, I started with a large child's puzzle for my base. I assembled the puzzle and then carefully marked on the reverse side a number and an arrow indicating the order, direction and sequence of each piece. The idea is to alter the pieces and then be able to "assemble" the puzzle and actually have all the pieces going in the right direction. Basically I didn't want Grandma to be upright and Grandpa to be upside down. Although that would be definitely "altered" it didn't serve my purpose and intention. Some of the pieces were left plain with a large purple dinosaur exposed. They'll be lightly sanded so they have "t ooth" and I'll collage various heritage papers to the pieces for background. Some pieces were gessoed. The white background will be perfect for rubberstamping or free-hand ...

Packing Tape Transfer

Image
This is a quick ATC using the packing tape transfer method. I first rubberstamped the image, reduced in on a toner based copier, adhered the packing tape, removed the paper and highlighted the image with Pearl Ex. The "Baby Chicks" and the title were simple cut, paste and place.

Everyday Blessings!

Here is my Bailey Girl! I have a new photo to post later . . . she went to see Santa Paws yesterday and she was so good. She's a gift from God, a blessing. People often tell me that "Airedale" and "blessing" don't go together in the same sentence but they are so wrong. I'm grateful that she's in my life, my home and my heart. My blessing . . . .

Grandma's Knickers - Another from the Archives

Grandma's Knickers . . . I was lucky enough to participate in this international swap of tags commemorating Grandma's Knickers! What fun! Evie Zaccardelli hosted this swap for Art-e-Zine. . . I think this link will take you to the swap page: http://www.art-e-zine.co.uk/knick.html

From the Vault . . .

Image
Hah! I knew there were some ATCs that I could pull from the "vault"! Here is a rubberstamped image with an oval tag attached by a simple brad, decorative corner punches before applying to black cardstock. This was for a swap titled . . . What's in your suitcase? Since I enjoy reading mysteries, this was spot on! Also a simple rubberstamped image for an alpha swap letter "I" for imagine. Imagination is a good thing. Anyway worth a chuckle or two! This was a simple magazine pic that I gessoed after placing a mask over the eyes. This is in the Bernie Berlin style of altering magazine pages. The swap was titled "Eyes" . . . thus "The (eyes) have it!" This is not my original design. I CASEd it with permission and actually the assistance of the original ATC artist. She sent a copy of the image and I added the winter sparkle. In this case, I tried both my camera and my scanner but came up with less than satisfactory results. It glistens ...
